ROBERT PRESLEY DETENTION CENTER
Located in the downtown area of Riverside, California, the Robert Presley Detention Center was opened in 1989, replacing the old Riverside County Jail. Robert Presley Detention Center (RPDC) and the Detention Care Unit at Riverside University Health Systems are under the command of a Sheriff’s Captain and are administered under the direction of the Corrections Division Chief Deputy.

Riverside County Jail Visitation Guidelines and Schedule
- To arrange a visit, please call 951-341-8888 between 9 a.m. and 5 p.m. at least one day in advance of your desired visitation date.
- Due to physical distancing requirements, each inmate may receive visits from up to two visitors.
- Inmates are permitted a maximum of two visits per week, with each visit lasting approximately 45 minutes.

LARRY D. SMITH CORRECTIONAL FACILITY
Located in the city of Banning, the Smith Correctional Facility is the Sheriff’s largest correctional facility. The facility is also home to several Corrections Division programs such as the Supervised Electronic Confinement Program, Work Release Program, Residential Substance Abuse Treatment program, Sheriff’s Inmate Training and Education Bureau, a commercial printing shop, centralized warehouse and laundry services, as well as other counseling, vocational, and educational programs. RIVERSIDE COUNTY SHERIFF COURT SERVICES
The Sheriff’s Court Services Division acts as an officer of the court. Our office receives, serves, and executes all civil processes and orders that are legally accepted for service.
It’s important that any civil process submitted to the Sheriff for service meets legal requirements, including being valid on its face, issued by a competent authority, and accompanied by appropriate legal instructions with an original signature.
Before the Sheriff’s Office can serve processes on your behalf, you must obtain a court order. Please note that only attorneys are authorized to provide legal advice, not the Sheriff.

The Riverside County Sheriff’s Court Services Division does not accept personal checks for civil process fees.
